According to the ECM, polling stations for the referendum will correspond to where voters cast their ballots during the 2024 Parliamentary Election. The designated polling locations are as follows:

  • Voters who cast their ballots in Malé, Vilimalé or Hulhumalé will vote in Malé.
  • Voters who cast their ballots in Feydhoo will vote in Feydhoo.
  • Voters who cast their ballots in Meedhoo will vote in Meedhoo.
  • Voters registered in any other location will have their registration reverted to their permanent address.

The Commission stated that individuals wishing to re-register must do so within the same constituency.

The list of registered voters will be published alongside the announcement. Voters can check their current registration status by sending an SMS with “VR [ID number]” to 1414 or by visiting the online portal.

Applications for re-registration can be submitted online through the Elections Commission’s re-registration portal or via ‘My Portal’ at my.elections.gov.mv.

For further information, the Commission has advised voters to contact 3004473.
