Gov’t Initiate Health and Wellness Initiative Ufaaveri Raasthaa for Senior Citizens

The government has initiated a series of information sessions aimed at senior citizens residing at the home for people with special needs in K. Guraidhoo.

The Ministry of Social and Family Development announced the launch of the “Ufaaveri Raasthaa” (Happy Journey) programme, which is designed to offer information and social activities to the 60 senior citizens living at the facility.

The programme’s primary objective is to prepare institutionalised senior citizens for reintegration into the community and to support them in maintaining good health.

During the sessions, nurses and social workers provided valuable information on healthy diets, daily exercise routines, and the importance of mental health.
