Joy Island Maldives Wins North Kaafu Zone Final of Tekkers Dhiraagu Resort Cup

Joy Island Maldives was crowned champions of the North Kaafu Zone Final of the Tekkers Dhiraagu Resort Cup 2025, held on Friday at Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort & Spa.
The highly anticipated final concluded on 31 October 2025, marking the end of the North Kaafu Zone matches. The evening opened with a grand ceremony as the finalist teams entered the arena to the iconic FIFA anthem, followed by player greetings led by the chief guests.
Sheraton Maldives’ HR Director, Hassan Shareef, delivered an opening speech celebrating the unity, talent, and sportsmanship showcased throughout the competition. The official kickoff was marked with a ball-signing ceremony by the chief guests, signalling the start of the match.
The final featured Joy Island Maldives and Hilton Maldives Amingiri in a closely contested match. Joy Island took the early lead, but Hilton equalised in the final seconds of the first half, ending 1–1 at halftime. After a tense second half, the match was decided by penalties, where Joy Island triumphed 4–2 thanks to two key saves by their goalkeeper, securing the North Kaafu Zone title.
Individual and team awards recognised outstanding performances, with Joy Island’s Arshan Shakir named both Best Goalkeeper and Man of the Match, and teammate Hussain Shafee winning Best Player of the Tournament. The Fair Play Award went to Banyan Tree Vabbinfaru, while Hilton Maldives Amingiri finished as runners-up.
With the North Kaafu Zone concluded, attention now turns to the Grand Semi-Finals on 4 and 5 November and the Grand Final on 7 November 2025, all to be held at Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort & Spa.
