Renovation of Aa Sahara Cemetery Completed
The Malé City Council has announced the successful completion of renovations at the Aa Sahara Cemetery.
As part of the project, a new two-storey annex has been constructed to provide additional space for funeral attendees. Male’ City Mayor Adam Azim announced that both the mosque and the waiting area have been finalised, and the cemetery is set to reopen for use from Friday.

Although the cemetery had been partially opened earlier this month following the completion of the ground floor, full funeral services had not been conducted during this time due to ongoing work.
Aa Sahara Cemetery had served as the primary location for funerals in Male’ until its closure last May. Since then, funeral services for the deceased in Male’ have been conducted at Hulhumale’ Cemetery.
