During the meeting, FENAKA provided updates on its project to bolster electricity services in Addu and discussed the necessary land arrangements for the planned powerhouse.
In April, FENAKA signed an agreement with Dongfang Electric International Corporation, a Chinese company, to construct a power plant in Addu with a generation capacity of 30 megawatts.
The islands of Maradhoo, Maradhoo-Feydhoo, Feydhoo, and Gan, which form part of Addu, have been experiencing ongoing power interruptions. FENAKA is responsible for providing both water and electricity services to these islands.
