International Teachers’ Conference Kicks Off with Focus on Equitable Education
The 7th International Teachers’ Conference commenced yesterday, bringing together over 250 educators, policymakers, and stakeholders from across the country.
Hosted by the National Institute of Education (NIE), the two-day event is being held at the Centre for Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) in Malé.
First Lady Sajidha Mohamed and Education Minister Dr Ismail Shafeeu attended the opening ceremony of the conference, which runs under the theme “Educate, Empower, Elevate: Equitable Education for 21st Century Excellence.” This biennial conference has been organised by the NIE since 2012, with the previous edition held in 2022.

According to the Ministry of Education, the conference will feature the presentation of 60 research papers and four case studies, alongside two keynote speeches and panel discussions. A central focus of the event is addressing the challenges facing educators and identifying solutions, as well as promoting academic tourism in the Maldives.
The conference aims to foster dialogue and collaboration, with participants working towards advancing education standards in the country.
