Gov’t Opens Over 300 Scholarships This Year

The Ministry of Higher Education, Labour, and Skills Development revealed that they have opened over 300 scholarship opportunities for students so far this year.

A total of 53 scholarship schemes have been introduced, with 345 positions currently available in 2024.

Among the scholarships offered are the prestigious Presidential Scholarship, awarded to students who achieve the highest rankings in A-Level examinations; the High Achievers Scholarship; and a specialised Accounting Scholarship. These programmes aim to support outstanding students and promote advanced education in various fields.

As of this year, 681 students are studying both in the Maldives and internationally under the Ministry’s scholarship initiatives. Current scholarship recipients are enrolled in educational institutions across China, Turkey, the United Kingdom, and Japan.
