Parliament Seeks Public Input on Key Economic Bills

The Parliament of the Maldives is seeking to gather opinions from the public and civil society organisations regarding four significant bills aimed at enhancing the nation’s economy, tourism sector, and trade practices.

  1. Bill on amendment to the Goods and Services Tax Act (No. 10/2011) 
  2. Bill on amendment to the the Tourism Act (No. 2/99)
  3. Bill on amendment to the Airport Taxes and Fees Act (No. 29/2016) 
  4. Bill on the amendment to the Export Import Act (No. 31/79)

The parliamentary committee has urged stakeholders to submit their written comments and suggestions on these proposed amendments. Contributions can be sent to the committee via email at committee@majlis.gov.mv or delivered directly to the Parliament office before 14:00 on Monday, 28 October, 2024.
