This marks the first instance of the Maldives’ Zakat Fund being utilised to support an international cause.

The funds, set to be disbursed in two phases, will be directed towards QRCS’s project to provide clean drinking water to Gaza residents, the ministry confirmed.

The contribution follows a recent fundraising effort organised by the Maldivian government, which has collected over MVR 19 million to support Palestinians.
