The National Social Protection Agency (NSPA) has faced backlash after publicly disclosing the details of aid provided to a cancer patient, prompting an apology.

The controversy began when an individual raised concerns about a reduction in the assistance being given to a family member undergoing cancer treatment. In response, the NSPA shared a breakdown of all funds allocated to the patient since the previous year.

NSPA initially dismissed the individual’s claims as false, a move that attracted widespread criticism. Following the public outcry, the agency deleted the post and issued a formal apology, acknowledging that revealing such sensitive information was inappropriate.

Subsequently, the NSPA met with the concerned individual and provided them with detailed information regarding the assistance given to the patient in question.
