Finance Ministry Opens Nominations for Commissioner of Economic Reform
The Ministry of Finance has announced the opening of nominations for the newly established post of Commissioner of Economic Reform, a key position designed to drive structural changes across state sectors.
Interested candidates are required to submit their applications by 1 pm on Tuesday. The appointment will initially be for a two-year term, with the possibility of contract renewal based on performance, according to the ministry’s statement.
Reporting directly to the Minister of Finance and the Minister’s Advisor, the Commissioner will lead the implementation of the National Reform Agenda. The role involves overseeing economic restructuring initiatives, advising on reform-related matters, and developing strategies to ensure macroeconomic stability and resilience.
Applicants must hold at least a first degree in accounting or finance and possess a minimum of 10 years of leadership experience in a relevant field.
The establishment of the role comes as the government intensifies efforts to reduce state expenditure and improve fiscal stability. Key initiatives include restructuring state-owned enterprises, revising subsidy frameworks, and implementing revenue-enhancing measures.
The Ministry of Finance stated that the Commissioner of Economic Reform would play a central role in executing these reforms, ensuring a more efficient and resilient economic framework.
