Islamic Ministry Completes Training for Over 800 Imams Across Maldives

The Ministry of Islamic Affairs has announced the training of 804 imams under its nationwide Imam Refresher Programme. 

The initiative, which spans 19 atolls and 11 regions, aims to enhance the skills and knowledge of full-time imams across the Maldives.

The programme recently concluded in Addu City, where 68 participants completed their training. The curriculum encompasses nine key subjects, including the Holy Quran, Tajweed, Tafsir, Fiqh, Hadith, Aqidah, and other essential skills. It also focuses on personal development, aiming to cultivate responsible and capable individuals to manage mosque responsibilities effectively.

The ministry has set a target of training 700 imams by the end of the year, with this milestone already surpassed. Officials have emphasised the importance of the initiative in strengthening religious leadership across the nation.
