Human Rights Day marks the anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), a landmark document that establishes fundamental rights for all individuals regardless of race, religion, gender, language, or other status.

Muizzu described the occasion as a reminder of the interconnectedness of human rights, underscoring his administration’s vision for a society rooted in dignity, equality, and justice. He also reiterated commitments to press freedom, workers’ rights, gender equality, and environmental sustainability for future generations.

This year’s Human Rights Day is observed under the theme, “Our Rights, Our Future, Right Now.”
