Aasandha Company has requested individuals to report any challenges encountered when obtaining medication under the national health insurance scheme.

In a public announcement, the company advised that complaints should be submitted via Viber, particularly in cases where individuals are required to settle payments for medication or if specific medicines are unavailable under the scheme. Reports can be filed by contacting Aasandha at 7591400.

To facilitate the process, the company has asked complainants to include copies of the relevant prescription and receipt when submitting their concerns.

This announcement follows concerns raised over the unavailability of some medications under the Aasandha scheme after recent price adjustments.

The government is currently working on reforms to address long-standing financial challenges associated with the scheme. Aasandha has historically exceeded its annual budget allocation, posing a significant burden on state finances.

As part of the reform measures, the government has introduced price controls on 250 medicines covered under the scheme. These medicines were previously sold at substantial profits by businesses, contributing to the scheme’s financial strain.
