Motorbike-Car Collision in Hulhumale’ Leaves One Injured

A serious accident involving a motorbike and a car occurred in Hulhumalé Phase II yesterday, leaving one person injured.

The Maldives Police Service reported that the collision took place near the Waste Management Corporation (WAMCO) site at 14:45 last afternoon.

The motorcyclist sustained multiple injuries and was rushed to hospital for urgent medical attention. Both vehicles were damaged in the incident, and police have confirmed that an investigation is underway.

Footage of the aftermath, widely shared on social media, shows the motorbike propelled a significant distance due to the impact of the collision.

This is the latest in a series of road accidents reported in Hulhumalé. Just days earlier, another incident occurred involving a motorbike and a police vehicle. The motorcyclist in that case, an 18-year-old, remains in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH). Police are currently investigating whether the officer driving the police vehicle was at fault.
