The impounded vehicles were seized for a range of offences, including illegal driving and other traffic violations. According to the Maldives Police Service, vehicle owners are given a set period to reclaim their property by submitting the necessary documentation. Failure to do so allows the authorities to proceed with destruction.
Details of the disposal were shared by the Maldives Police Service in a post on X, where the destruction of the unclaimed vehicles was confirmed. The action reflects the enforcement of regulations aimed at managing unclaimed impounded vehicles across the country.
