Muizzu Set Off for a Three-Day Tour of Haa Alifu Atoll

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu departed for a three-day tour of Haa Alifu Atoll this morning.
The President’s Office said the president would tour several islands of the atoll and hold meetings with the Atoll and Island Councils, Women’s Development Committees (WDC), and institutional heads of the islands. He would inquire about each island’s and its citizens’ unique developmental needs.
His first stop on this tour is Haa Alifu Muraidhoo. He will tour Dhihdhoo, Filladhoo, Hoarafushi, Ihavandhoo, Maarandhoo, Molhadhoo, Muraidhoo, Thakandhoo, Uligamu, and Utheemu.
He will inaugurate several developmental projects in the islands, including new police posts and the launch of National ID card and passport services in some of them. Additionally, agreements between Councils and the Bank of Maldives will be signed to commence ATM services, furthering this administration’s pledge to facilitate easier access to banking services nationwide.
This tour is part of the President’s pledge for 2024 to engage with local councils in the atolls, islands, and cities. Muizzu is accompanied on this trip by a delegation of Cabinet Ministers and senior Government officials.
He will return to Male’ on Thursday after completing the trip.
President Muizzu also completed a three-day tour of the Raa Atoll islands last. During this visit, he pledged to launch housing projects nationwide, and that he would initiate the development of Fainu Airport next month.
