Three Arrested, Including Minor, for Attempted Violence

The Maldives Police Service has confirmed the arrest of three individuals, including a minor, in connection with an attempted violent incident.

In a statement issued to the media yesterday, the Police reported that the arrests took place around 8:17pm on Saturday evening in Dhonhuraa Golhi, Violet Magu, Male’ City. The identities of the suspects and further details regarding the case have not been disclosed.

In a separate incident, the Police apprehended two individuals on the highway, suspected of fleeing the scene of an axe attack in Hulhumale’. According to the Police, a report was made at approximately 11:35pm on Saturday after an individual waiting near Rehendhi Turf Stadium in Boaganvilla Magu was attacked by two men on a motorbike.

The victim of the attack, who sustained injuries, has since been treated and discharged from Hulhumale’ Hospital. The Police confirmed that the assault was carried out using an axe. The two suspects were arrested while attempting to flee to Male’. Authorities also found the weapon used in the attack, along with a knife, in the vicinity.
