Muizzu Nominates Ahmed Nashid as VP of ACC

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has nominated Ahmed Nashid as the vice president of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
A letter from Muizzu, dated January 26, requesting parliamentary approval for the appointment, was read at Parliament on Monday morning. The nomination has been forwarded to the Independent Institutions Committee for vetting.
Ahmed Nashid, along with Abdulla Nashid, was appointed to the ACC on January 26. Both received parliamentary approval for their appointments on January 20.
Prior to his nomination, Ahmed Nashid served as an assistant commissioner of police and was a member of the Police Board.
