Police Arrest Five in Connection with Assault and Captivity Incident in Addu City

Police have revealed that five individuals have been arrested in connection with an incident involving battery and the unlawful confinement of a man in Hithadhoo, Addu City.

The police reported that the situation came to their attention during a routine patrol near Milo Stadium at 1:35 a.m. Officers observed people fleeing from the area, prompting further investigation.

Upon arrival, the police found a 37-year-old man tied to a bench. He had been assaulted, and part of his head had been shaved.

Four adults and a 15-year-old minor were arrested at the scene.

The police have not disclosed the motive behind the incident, and investigations are ongoing.
