Deputy Commissioner Highlights Life Lessons from Raasthaa Programme

Deputy Commissioner of Police Ismail Naveen has expressed hope that the Raasthaa programme has instilled a meaningful lifestyle among participants.
Speaking at the closing ceremony of the Raasthaa programme for students of the National University, Naveen stated that he hoped participants had learned to respect others, take responsibility, take initiative and collaborate in various matters. He emphasised that every lesson from the programme should serve as a practical tool for personal development, fostering patriotism, leadership and good manners.
“Each of these things will brighten the future. I hope the National University will always work with the police to build the country by conducting such programmes in collaboration with the police. The Maldives Police will cooperate in everything done to build the country,” Naveen said.
He also highlighted the role of teachers in such initiatives, acknowledging their efforts as invaluable to the nation. He expressed gratitude for their dedication, stating that the leadership recognises their contributions and treats them with due respect.

The ceremony also included the presentation of certificates to participants, teachers and those who contributed to the programme. A total of 69 students from various courses at the National University took part in the programme, which ran from 13 to 16 of this month. The sessions covered survival skills, team building, self-defence, leadership, volunteerism, physical fitness, morality, nationalism and religious studies.
The Raasthaa programme was organised in collaboration with Public Trust and Confidence Management, the National College of Policing and Law Enforcement, and the National University. Among those in attendance were National College of Policing and Law Enforcement Executive Director, Assistant Commissioner of Police Ahmed Abdul Rahman, Public Trust and Confidence Management Head Chief Superintendent of Police Fathimath Nashwa, and National University Vice Chancellor Dr Aishath Shehenaz Adam, along with other senior university officials, commissioned officers of the Maldives Police Service and teachers.
