The Maldives Girl Guide Association (MGGA) has opened the opportunity for the public to donate to its annual Eid project, now in its 26th year.
This year, the MGGA’s Young Leaders will lead the initiative, which aims to provide Eid gifts to the residents of the Home for People with Special Needs in Guraidhoo. Since 2000, the association has been organising this project to share the joy of Eid with the residents through various activities, fostering a sense of inclusion and happiness.
According to the MGGA, the project not only benefits the recipients but also helps young leaders develop compassion towards the elderly and those with special needs. Many young leaders are actively involved in the preparations, which began before Ramadan. Administrative tasks, official transactions, and the collection of information regarding the residents’ needs are already underway. Efforts are also being made to gather suitable Eid gifts and raise awareness through social media and television channels.
