The Malé Group of Hospitals stated that the closure was necessary due to the challenges patients would face in reaching the hospitals amid flooded streets. However, inpatient services remain operational at all four hospitals, according to IGMH.
The area surrounding IGMH is particularly prone to flooding and was affected by heavy rains yesterday as well.
Meanwhile, President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has declared today a government holiday due to the widespread rainfall across the Maldives.
