Police Rescues Crew and Passengers of “Huvan” Boat

Maldives Police Service rescued all passengers and crew from the speedboat “Huvan”, which sank this morning.

According to the police, they received a report at 7:57 a.m. about a speedboat sinking while travelling from Alifu Dhaalu Dhigurah to Malé. The vessel was carrying 45 passengers and three crew members.

Emergency response teams were immediately dispatched, ensuring the safe rescue of everyone onboard, including four children. All passengers have since been transported back to Dhigurah.

The police are investigating the incident and have commended the swift response of rescue teams and all those who assisted in the operation.
