MV+ News Desk | March 10, 2025

The Minister of Cities, Local Government and Public Works, Adam Shareef, has announced that from tomorrow onwards, the government will distribute the tuna can cases provided as Ramadan gifts through MIFCO outlets.

According to Shareef, 48,000 households in the Malé area have so far received the tuna can cases. Until tonight, the distribution will continue at the 13 designated centres.

From that point onwards, it will be relocated to MIFCO shops, where distribution will take place during official opening hours at all MIFCO outlets in Malé and Hulhumalé. The online token system will continue to be used.

The distribution of tuna can cases in the Malé area began on 20 February. Initially, the process was carried out at five centres, but long queues and extended waiting times prompted the government to introduce additional distribution points and implement an online token system.
