Media Delegations Departs for Beijing Seminar on Heads of Journalism

The Maldives Media Council has announced that a delegation departed for China yesterday to attend a seminar in Beijing.

The seminar, which runs from 20 March to 2 April 2025, is part of the “Seminar on Heads of Journalist Organizations for Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) Partner Countries,” organised by the Chinese government. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs facilitated the opportunity.

The primary aim of the seminar is to gain insight into China’s media practices and to foster greater media cooperation between China and other countries involved in the BRI.

The Maldivian delegation includes Council Member Ali Adam, Council Administrative Officer Aishath Malsa Maahir, Shimla Ahmed from AO News, and Ifraz Ali from Mihaaru Online.
