Maldivian Expands Services with A320 Flights to Addu City

Maldives’ national airline, Maldivian, has announced plans to commence flights to Gan, Addu City, using its Airbus A320 aircraft. 

The airline will operate two weekly flights between Malé and Addu City from 10 April, with services scheduled for Thursdays and Saturdays.

The A320, which is part of Maldivian’s fleet, has previously operated flights to Addu City but was temporarily suspended for scheduled maintenance. The aircraft is set to resume operations next month. Maldivian already operates three daily flights between Malé and Gan.

The airline now has a fleet of 25 aircraft, including two ATR72s, one ATR42, seven Dash8-300s, two Dash8-200s, and 11 DHC-6 Twin Otters. Additionally, Maldivian operates one narrowbody Airbus A320 and one widebody Airbus A330.

Maldivian introduced its first widebody aircraft on 6 January, fulfilling a key presidential pledge by President Dr Mohamed Muizzu. The aircraft has enabled the airline to launch direct flights to three Chinese cities: Beijing, Shanghai, and Chengdu.
