According to police, the investigation has identified multiple individuals from different sections of the immigration department as being involved in the case. The allegations include the misuse of authority to search a residence occupied by foreigners, detaining several individuals, and subsequently taking them into immigration custody along with MVR 530,000.

Police further stated that one of the detained foreigners was released the following night on Shamman’s orders in exchange for cash. The released individual was later met on the street, and the money was allegedly taken to Shamman’s residence.

As part of the investigation, police have seized a significant amount of cash and electronic devices from Shamman’s residence.
