The President’s Office yesterday held the second session of the Executive Development Program 2025–2027, aimed at cultivating visionary leadership across the public sector.
The session took place at the Maldives National University (MNU) Auditorium and drew a large audience comprising senior officials and professionals from various government ministries and institutions.
The keynote address was delivered by leadership coach Masood Ali, who spoke on the theme “Influence: The Heartbeat of Leadership.” His presentation focused on the transformative role of influence in modern leadership, emphasising that true leadership is not just about managing teams, but about inspiring purpose and fostering meaningful connections.
According to the President’s Office, Masood highlighted key aspects of influence, including relationship-building, effective communication, and the ethical use of personal power. He stressed that impactful leaders create environments of trust, psychological safety, and shared vision—elements that are increasingly critical as traditional leadership models lose relevance.
The talk concluded by tying these principles together, illustrating how purpose-driven leadership can enhance individual growth and elevate team performance across institutions.
The Executive Development Program is a flagship initiative by the President’s Office to strengthen leadership capacity across the Maldivian civil service.
