Abdul Rahman’s Body to Be Taken to India for Post-Mortem on 21 July

The body of 65-year-old Abdul Rahman Adam of Orchidmaage, AA. Maalhos, will be transported to Trivandrum, India, on Monday, 21 July 2025, for a post-mortem examination, police confirmed today.
Abdul Rahman was found in the early hours of Sunday, 13 July, with severe head injuries in his bedroom at his residence. He was rushed to the AA. Maalhos Health Centre at around 1:50 a.m., but succumbed to his injuries during the early hours while undergoing treatment.
His body was brought to Malé later that day for forensic investigations, and arrangements have now been finalised for the autopsy to take place in India.
In an official statement, the Maldives Police Service said they arrived in Maalhos within hours of receiving the report of the assault and subsequent death. The residence, Maahiya, where the incident occurred, was immediately closed off and remains sealed.
As part of the investigation, police have collected fingerprints and footprints from individuals who entered the home following the incident. Several individuals have also been questioned in connection with the events of that night.
An investigative team remains active on the island, and the case is ongoing. At the time of reporting, no arrests have been made, and police have not confirmed whether any evidence has been uncovered.
