The Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) is implementing plans to digitise its services and automate internal processes as part of its Strategic Action Plan.
The initiative aims to make tax-related services more accessible and efficient for taxpayers by expanding the use of modern technology. According to MIRA, the authority is working to enhance its systems to enable easier tax payments and to further streamline internal operations.
A significant portion of MIRA’s services, including information clarification and tax return submissions, has already been automated. The current focus is on developing a more comprehensive and user-friendly system that builds on these existing capabilities.
Established in 2010 with 40 employees, MIRA has since grown to a workforce of 300, operating through 18 offices across the Maldives.
