Engineers’ Day in the Maldives is observed annually on 30 August, but as the date fell on a public holiday this year, STELCO held its celebration the following day.
As engineers arrived at the office, colleagues from across the company gathered to honour them, with the event featuring a cake-cutting ceremony.
This is the second year the Maldives has celebrated Engineers’ Day. The day was officially declared on 30 August last year to coincide with the inauguration of the China-Maldives Friendship Bridge, also known as the Sinamalé Bridge, the largest infrastructural development project in the country.
