Aishath Muzna Appointed to STELCO Board of Directors

Aishath Muzna, the Deputy Managing Director of the State Electric Company (STELCO), has been appointed to the company’s board of directors. 

The appointment was announced by the Privatisation and Corporatisation Board (PCB) yesterday.

Muzna replaces Mohamed Amir, who was appointed to STELCO’s board in late 2023. She joined STELCO in 2000 and was appointed as the company’s Deputy Managing Director on 28 November 2023.

Muzna is the spouse of Hulhudhoo MP Mohamed Shahid (Shad), the deputy leader of the ruling People’s National Congress (PNC) parliamentary group. She holds a Bachelor of Accounting and Finance from the University of East London in the United Kingdom.

Throughout her career at STELCO, Muzna has held several key positions, including company secretary, head of the legal department, head of the bureau, head of business development, head of procurement and inventory management, head of information technology, and head of corporate and legal affairs.
