Maldives Scout Association Temporarily Closes Office And Shop In Malé

The Maldives Scout Association has announced the temporary closure of its office and shop after being instructed to vacate its current premises in Malé.

The association’s office and scout shop, which were located in the Arabiyya School building on Chandhanee Magu, have now been closed until a new space is arranged. Arabiyya School has remained unused since January 2022 due to severe structural damage.

According to the association, the Ministry of Education ordered the premises to be vacated by Thursday. As no alternative location has yet been provided, the association said all services have been suspended temporarily.

The closure has also affected the scout shop, which provides equipment for school scouting programmes across the Maldives. The association expressed regret over the disruption and said operations would resume once a suitable new building is secured.
