President Muizzu Urges Maldivians to Safeguard National Heritage for Future Generations

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has said Maldivians are entrusted with the responsibility of passing on the nation’s most precious heritage to future generations.
In a post on X to mark National Heritage Day, the President highlighted Islam, the Dhivehi language, enduring traditions, local craftsmanship, heritage sites and the nation’s proud history as the most valuable elements of Maldivian heritage. He stressed that these have been handed down to the present generation and that preserving them for the future is a solemn duty.
“It is a national duty to pass all these elements on to future generations. This is an essential obligation for the survival of the country,” Muizzu said on X.

First Lady Sajidha Mohamed also shared a message on X, describing Maldivians as a people rooted in values of discipline, industriousness and hard work. Echoing the President’s sentiment, she emphasised that the Dhivehi language, culture, heritage sites and traditions inherited from forefathers are entrusted to the present generation to be preserved and passed on to their children.
“Our traditions, customs, language and culture passed down from our ancestors are a national heritage that must be safeguarded for generations to come,” Saajidhaa said on X.
