Maldives 2.0, introduced by President Muizzu in May, is a flagship initiative aimed at modernising public services and accelerating digital transformation across all sectors. The programme seeks to create a digitally connected Maldives over the next three years, integrating accessible technologies nationwide and raising service standards.
The initiative is structured around eight key pillars: secure digital identity, open data governance, robust cybersecurity, modern legal frameworks, sovereign digital infrastructure, citizen-focused e-government services, sectoral digital modernisation, and support for ICT innovation and local talent.
