Maldives and Hungary Sign MoU to Boost Scholarship Opportunities for Students

The Maldives and Hungary have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to facilitate scholarship opportunities for Maldivian students.

The agreement, titled the MoU on Cooperation within the Framework of the Stipendium Hungaricum Programme for 2025–2027, was signed in New York during the high-level week of the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly.
Dr Abdulla Khaleel, Minister of Foreign Affairs, signed the MoU on behalf of the Government of the Maldives, while Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, signed on behalf of the Government of Hungary.
Under the agreement, 25 scholarships will be made available for Maldivian students to pursue undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral studies at Hungarian universities between 2025 and 2027.
The Stipendium Hungaricum Programme, established by the Hungarian government, aims to attract international students, foster personal and professional connections with Hungary, and provide access to high-quality education in the heart of Europe.
