NSPA Spends Over MVR 7 Million On Therapeutic Treatments In August

The National Social Protection Agency (NSPA) has reported spending more than MVR 7 million on therapeutic treatments for individuals with disabilities during August 2025.

According to the figures released, the total expenditure amounted to MVR 7.7 million. The agency noted that behavioural therapy was the most widely used service, with 115 individuals receiving treatment at a cost of MVR 1.9 million.

Occupational therapy and early intervention therapy were the next most common, each accessed by 100 individuals. NSPA allocated MVR 1.7 million for occupational therapy and MVR 1.2 million for early intervention therapy.

Speech therapy was provided to 90 people, costing MVR 1.4 million, while educational therapy was accessed by 67 individuals, with spending recorded at MVR 1 million. Physiotherapy for 12 individuals cost MVR 158,200, and psychotherapy for 13 individuals amounted to MVR 140,950.

In total, financial assistance was extended to 290 people with disabilities during the month. This group included 212 males and 78 females.
