Over 1,200 Gedhoruveriya Flat Recipients Pay Security Deposit, Says FDC

The Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC) has reported that over 1,200 recipients of the 4,000 flats under the Gedhoruveriya housing scheme have paid the required security deposit, as the handover process continues.

The opportunity to pay the security deposit for the Hulhumale’ flats was opened on 7 September. According to information shared by FDC, 1,731 individuals were informed to make the payment by last Thursday, out of which 1,273 have completed the payment.

FDC said the deposit payment process is being carried out in phases, following the signing of flat agreements. So far, 3,140 individuals have signed their agreements.

The housing project was contracted to two Indian companies. The two-room apartments are being allocated for MVR 7,000 per month, with a MVR 1,000 monthly maintenance fee and a MVR 15,000 security deposit. Meanwhile, three-room apartments are being provided for MVR 9,500 per month, with a MVR 1,500 maintenance fee and a MVR 25,000 deposit.

Recipients from Amaan Udhares’ Tower 14 were the first to begin receiving their flats. The handover is being conducted zone by zone, with scheduling managed through FDC’s online portal.

FDC has stated that it aims to complete the handover of all Gedhoruveriya flats by the end of November.
