The Maldives Police Service is preparing to introduce a new mobile application named Police.mv.
The application, which will soon be available to the public, is designed to expose scam-related information such as phone numbers, account details, and phishing links. It will also provide users with real-time updates on scam activities, refreshing its data every eight hours.
Through the platform, individuals will be able to submit scam-related data they receive, including suspicious calls or messages. Police will verify the submissions before publishing them, ensuring that only confirmed information is shared.
The initiative was announced by Inspector of Police Azeef Abbas during a programme aired on state media on Friday evening. He said the app aims to strengthen public participation in preventing online fraud and to serve as a central source for verified scam alerts.
