Maldives Ports Limited Conducts Port Security Training for Staff

Maldives Ports Limited (MPL), in collaboration with the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) Coast Guard Training School, has conducted a ‘Certificate Level 1 in Port Security Training’ programme and awarded certificates to successful participants.

The 30-day training course was held in Girifushi and included 30 participants. Attendees comprised security staff from MPL’s Security Department and the company’s two regional ports in Kulhudhuffushi and Hithadhoo.
The closing ceremony took place at Bandaara Koshi yesterday, where MPL Chief Executive Officer Mohamed Rilwan presented certificates to participants who successfully completed the programme.
The course aimed to strengthen security at the nation’s ports in line with international standards while enhancing the skills and competence of security personnel. Training modules covered emergency response, security drills, work ethics, practical application, compliance with the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code, port security and protection, and maritime safety and security.
As a final component of the training, a security drill was conducted at the Malé Commercial Harbour on Saturday.
