Maldivian has announced a temporary reduction in airfares on its Kuala Lumpur route as part of efforts to strengthen its position as the preferred carrier between the Maldives and Malaysia.
The national airline said tickets from Kuala Lumpur will start at USD 112 under the promotional offer. The discount applies only to flights scheduled for 21 and 28 December, which will be operated using Airbus aircraft.
The initiative is part of Maldivian’s broader plan to enhance service standards and expand its regional market share. The airline emphasised that the fare reduction is intended to support national economic goals by stimulating tourism and increasing passenger movement between the two countries.
Officials expect the lower fares to attract more travellers from Malaysia, while offering greater convenience for business, leisure, and personal trips.
Maldivian currently operates a fleet of 25 aircraft across domestic and international routes. The fleet comprises one Airbus A330, one Airbus A320, five ATR aircraft, eight Dash 8 aircraft, and eleven Twin Otter aircraft.
