SDFC Integrates Services With BML Mobile App To Enhance Digital Access
The SME Development Finance Corporation (SDFC) has begun integrating its services with the Bank of Maldives (BML) mobile application, enabling customers to view and pay their facility balances directly through the platform.
The integration, launched in phases through BML’s BillPay feature, forms part of a broader effort to digitise services for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and to strengthen the efficiency and security of financial transactions nationwide.
Under the new system, customers logging into the BML app with their personal banking accounts can access details of their SDFC facilities through the ‘Account’ tab. The feature provides information such as total outstanding balances and monthly payable amounts, offering immediate visibility into repayment schedules.
SDFC Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Badhurudheen Hassan described the initiative as a significant step towards the full digitisation of services provided to the SME sector. He noted that linking SDFC facilities with the BML banking network was aimed at simplifying service delivery and improving customer convenience.
Hassan also highlighted that the integration is expected to reduce reliance on manual bank transfers by introducing automated, real-time transactions. This transition is intended to accelerate service delivery and enhance the accuracy of financial management.
To support users, SDFC has released detailed guidance on how to use the BillPay feature through its official social media channels.
