President Muizzu Meets Qatari Minister to Enhance Bilateral Ties

His Excellency Sultan bin Saad bin Sultan Al Muraikhi, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of Qatar, paid a courtesy call on President Dr Mohamed Muizzu this afternoon at the President’s Office.

During the meeting, President Muizzu expressed appreciation to the Government of Qatar for its long-standing assistance, which has significantly contributed to the Maldives’ socioeconomic development over the past decades.

According to the President’s Office, the Qatari Minister of State for Foreign Affairs thanked the President and the Maldivian Government for the warm welcome and hospitality extended to him and his delegation. He also highlighted the strong brotherly ties between Qatar and the Maldives, reaffirming Qatar’s commitment to exploring additional opportunities to strengthen the bilateral development partnership.

Discussions during the visit focused on expanding cooperation in areas of mutual interest, including energy, education, investment, culture, and healthcare, with the aim of benefiting the citizens of both nations, the President’s Office said.
