President Muizzu Extends Condolences Over Delhi Explosion

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives in the explosion near the Red Fort in Delhi on Monday night.
In a post on his official X account, President Muizzu offered condolences to the bereaved families and wished a swift recovery for those injured.
“Deeply saddened by the tragic loss of lives in the blast in Red Fort, Delhi this evening. Our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and good wishes for swift recovery of the injured. The Maldives stands in solidarity with the people and Government of India in this difficult time,” he said.

The President reaffirmed the Maldives’ solidarity with the people and Government of India during this period of grief.
According to Al Jazeera, a car explosion near the historic Red Fort on Monday claimed at least nine lives and injured 20 others. Authorities are investigating the incident as a possible deliberate act, with Police in the Delhi territory invoking an “anti-terror” law in response.
