Police Tows 282 vehicles from Male’ and Hulhumale in Two Days

Police towed 282 vehicles from Male’ and Hulhumale on 9 and 10 November, under an ongoing activity to declutter the roads of Male’ area.
A total of 205 vehicles were towed from Male’, which included 204 two-wheeled vehicles and one four-wheeled vehicle. 78 were towed from Hulhumale, of which 76 were two-wheeled vehicles and two were four-wheeled vehicles.

Most of the vehicles towed from Hulhumale were for illegal parking. According to police data, 61 out of the 78 were towed for this reason. All of which were two-wheeled vehicles. 12 vehicles were towed due to the driver not possessing a license, out of which 11 were two-wheeled vehicles and one four-wheeled.
Police also revealed that 38 vehicles were fined in Hulhumale during this period, which included 27 two-wheeled vehicles and 11 four-wheeled vehicles.

During the month of October, police checked 274 vehicles which were operated by expatriates. According to police data, 98 were given advice after being stopped, and action was taken against 176.
