Dhiraagu Presents Prizes to Road Race Winners

Dhiraagu has handed over the prizes for the Dhiraagu Maldives Road Race winners.

Dhiraagu awarded a total of MVR 256,000 in cash prizes to the winners of this year’s race during a ceremony held on Thursday. The champion of the 21.1K category received MVR 25,000, while the runner-up received MVR 15,000 and the second runner-up received MVR 10,000.

Winners of the 5K, 10K Open and 5K corporate categories each received MVR 10,000. The runner-up in each category earned MVR 8,000, and the second runner-up received MVR 6,000. Dhiraagu also awarded gift vouchers to the top three finishers in the 5K school category, with champions receiving vouchers worth MVR 5,000, followed by MVR 3,000 and MVR 1,000.

Certificates were presented to the first, second and third place winners in the 21.1K and 10K age group categories for participants aged 45–50, 51–55, 56–60 and 61–65.

Endorsed NGOs received a combined donation of MVR 678,800. The top five NGOs with the highest number of participants each received MVR 200,000. Proceeds from registration fees and special bib numbers were distributed among 13 NGOs endorsed by the road race.

The Dhiraagu Maldives Road Race is the country’s largest annual running event. More than 4,500 runners from 44 countries participated this year, alongside 28 schools and 128 corporate teams.
