In a post on X, STELCO said the new generator will boost Thinadhoo’s power capacity and support the island’s expanding tourism sector, which has driven demand for more reliable electricity services. The company added that electricity provision on the island is expected to improve once installation is completed.
STELCO has been dispatching additional generators to islands experiencing economic growth as part of its broader effort to strengthen electricity infrastructure across the atolls and ensure supply during periods of high consumption.
