Four Arrested on Suspicion of Prostitution After Raid on Spa in Malé

Maldives Police Service has arrested three expatriates and one Maldivian on suspicion of running an illegal prostitution business, following a raid on a spa in Malé.
Police said the raid was carried out on 17 November at “Peace Saloon and Spa,” located in Henveiru Arihiyaa Ge in Malé.
Three Thai women and one Maldivian man were arrested. Police identified them as Mohamed Samaam Rasheed, 28, of Riveli, Villingili in Gaafu Alif Atoll; Junpen Kumbontipak, 38; Patcharidaa Bannabodee, 24; and Supavadee Jomtarak, 21.
According to police, Mohamed Samaam Rasheed was remanded for five days. Supavadee Jomtarak and Junpen Kumbontipak were remanded for three days, while Patcharidaa Bannabodee received a 30-day remand.
Police said the investigation remains ongoing.
