Twenty-Two Maldivian Officials Complete Advanced Cybercrime Investigation Training

Twenty-two officials from key Maldivian institutions have completed an advanced training programme on cybercrime investigation and digital forensics, according to the Maldives Police Service.

The Advanced Digital Forensics and Incident Response Programme was held from 15 to 20 November in collaboration with the Maldives Police College and India’s Rashtriya Raksha University. Sessions were conducted by expert lecturers from the university.
Participants represented a range of national agencies, including the Maldives Police Service, Maldives Customs Service, Maldives Immigration, Maldives National Defence Force, the National Centre for Information Technology, and the National Cyber Security Agency.
The programme focused on modern tools, frameworks, and methodologies for managing cyber incidents and digital evidence. Attendees received training in enterprise-scale and cloud-based incident response, as well as strategies to mitigate risks in evolving digital environments.
A closing ceremony took place at Iskandhar Barracks on Thursday, where Assistant Commissioner of Police Farhad Fikry attended and highlighted the importance of developing strong national cyber capabilities.
